The word of the day on my "Forgotten English" calendar is "jaculatory". The definition is That which is suddenly called from one, like a dart; as jaculatory prayers, sudden, extemporary prayers.
Someone should tell the publishers of my calendar that this word is not exactly forgotten, and it's become much, much dirtier.
